Three movements of one encounter
— look deeper:
Common Ground moves beyond the false dichotomy of the sacred and the secular. In other words, we find God in our sacred interactions — and also in the truth, goodness, and beauty in the world.
We recognize that God speaks uniquely to each person, yet creates a unity amid the difference.
Each person experiences God a little differently, and that’s okay. Unlike most churches and religions, we don’t all have to be the same or believe exactly the same thing. At CG, we believe the Spirit of God unites our uniqueness and differences without forcing similarity if we remain truly open to each other, which is love.
To the extent that we open ourselves to behold the glory of God embedded in the truth, goodness, and beauty in the world, as well as God, each one of us and our relationships undergo an endless series of transformations. We can only experience it to the extent we allow the world and genuine relationships to truly affect us. At Common Ground, we seek to open our eyes to this glory of God that is emerging in the world.
